Saif Power’s FIT Graduation: A Proud Day, Family, and Big Smiles
Earlier this May, I had the pleasure of photographing Saif Power’s graduation from Florida Institute of Technology, where he earned his degree in engineering. Moments after the ceremony, we stepped right into the heart of the FIT campus to capture a milestone that marks the beginning of a brand new chapter.
The session had everything I love about graduation photography: proud family, close friends, heartfelt interactions, and a few surprise moments of fun. One of the standout images came early on. Saif, dressed in his cap and gown, posed in front of the L3Harris Center for Science and Engineering, flanked by his entire support crew. With the building’s name in full view and the Gordon L. Nelson Health Sciences building just to the side, it was a perfect visual tribute to his academic journey.
Another favorite? A candid moment by the campus fountain, where Saif kissed his mother on the head in a quiet moment of appreciation. That photo says more than a caption ever could. Later in the shoot, we took a creative turn when Saif leaned back against a reflective glass wall, giving us a perfectly symmetrical shot with his smile mirrored beside him.
This wasn’t just about traditional portraits, though. We also captured more relaxed moments—Saif laughing it up indoors with his brothers, or posing confidently in front of towering campus windows while his brothers joked around in the background. And of course, we made time for a portrait with his girlfriend, an aspiring pilot, whose vibrant dress and warm energy brought something extra to the frame.
Whether it was an emotional hug or a lighthearted sibling rivalry caught on camera, this shoot was packed with personality and meaning. It was a celebration not just of one person’s achievement, but of all the people who helped him get there.
Congratulations again, Saif! Wherever engineering takes you next, you’ve got the heart and the crew to go far.
